Exterminator! Bedbug Infestations in US Cities are on the Rise

It’s no surprise that more and more homes are getting infested with bed bugs. In fact, it has become a major problem in many countries like the United States. This is why it is very important to identify bed bug causes in order to prevent the problem or get rid of it as soon as possible. In the US, the number of cities getting infested with bed bugs is increasing each year. And this rise calls for the services of the experts in terms of bed bugs extermination. When dealing with this problem, it is really important to let the experts handle it. Just be sure to find the right people from the right company to do the job. Doing so will give you the guarantee that you won’t be bothered by bed bugs anymore. Click on the article to know more about this news. "Data analyzed by pest-control company Orkin shows an increasing number of bedbug infestations in American cities, and researchers seem to agree. The data spans December 2016 to November 2017 and the findings, Bloomberg reports, are fueling a growing extermination industry worth over $611 million last year, though the industry is estimated to reach a $1 billion valuation in five years. For hotels, the average of cost of an infestation is upwards of $23,000 — the figure accounts for lost revenue and legal costs as people tend to get litigious after spending a night or two with the bloodthirsty insects. Why is this happening? After the Second World War, humanity, though devastated itself, seems to have checked the spread of bedbugs, according to researchers. But globalization, restricted use of insecticides and bedbugs tolerance to the successors of chemicals like DDT have made modern bedbugs into resourceful, rugged survivors. Other countries are having a tough go of it too, but in most places humans aren’t winning the struggle to drive the insects out of buildings."

This is how to avoid being bitten by the blood-sucking critters. The number of bed bug infestations across the world is continuing to rise, researchers have warned. They travel from place to place with ease, latching onto clothes, luggage and other belongings. Homes, hotels, hospitals and public transport could all harbour the blood-sucking insects, as they live in cracks and crevices in, and around, beds. They crawl out at night, and bite exposed skin to feed on blood, according to the NHS. “They continue to invade our homes and businesses on a regular basis because they are not seasonal pests, and only need blood to survive,” said Dr Tim Husen, an entomologist for pest control business Orkin. “Any type of home is prone to bud begs. It has nothing to do with sanitation. “We have treated for bed bugs everywhere, from newly built upscale homes to public housing.” Bed bug numbers can increase rapidly, as one female could lay up to five eggs in one day."

Although the bites aren’t dangerous and don’t spread disease, bedbugs can be a real nuisance because of their persistence, so you will want to act fast. First things first, you need to be able to spot the little devils. Adult bedbugs are oval-shaped, up to 5/6mm long and can be dark yellow, red or brown. They are expert hiders though, so you may need to look for clues rather than come across the bugs themselves. Signs you might have an infestation include tiny white eggs in the crevices of your mattress and furniture or blood spots on your sheets from squashing the bugs. You may also find mottled shells that have been shed or tiny black spots on your mattress, which are their dried excrement.

Pest Management in Food Service Facilities

One of the most annoying things that common people and businesses would encounter would probably be the so-called unwanted guests. Especially in the business world, pest management is of great importance, in fact, it should be a priority. There are instances when we think that simple bed bugs killer will be enough to eliminate the problem. Although it can help, but maybe it can only kill bed bugs baby and not really get into the root of the problem. This is why food service facilities employ good pest management with the help of professionals to provide the best for their customers. The article below talks about pest management in food service facilities and how to control these things to make sure that the people are safe and can enjoy their food. Read on to know more about pest management.   Cockroaches are a serious problem in these accounts, but control can be achieved if food, water and harborage are eliminated and customer cooperation is achieved. Pest control in food service facilities can quickly become a struggle between the client and pest management professional if expectations between the two are not spelled out early in the relationship. If both parties are not on the same page as far as duties are concerned, then small issues can and will escalate, resulting in dissatisfied clients. It’s no secret that two of the greatest contributing factors in pest management are sanitation and exclusion; giving pests less food and water to consume, and minimizing the places in which they can enter and hide. That said, overcoming those two issues is much easier said than done. As PMPs, it is in our best interest to work with clients as closely as possible, giving them as much detail and advice as one can afford to give, and knowing where and when sanitation and exclusion issues can turn into problems. The more effort you put into educating your clients on where they can help themselves, the better off both parties will be.
